The visible differences between 150 and 300 DPI depending on the printing method and the size of your artwork.
All-over printing method (sublimation)
The printing method for all-over printing products is known as dye sublimation. The inks are gassed onto the fabric using heat presses in this method so that the ink covers the full surface of the garment. If you use low-resolution files or those that have been resampled and placed into a 150 DPI, the final products may not seem to be in low quality in this print technique as they display on the screen
Because of this, having a 300 DPI file will have little effect on the quality of sublimation products.
Where does resolution make a difference?
There are some products where we do require 300 dpi to ensure the printing quality.
This is because we use a different printing method called UV printing. Because the details in UV printing are substantially higher, it is highly recommended to use this higher resolution in printing when uploading your design files. This currently applies to the following products: Ornaments, Wooden Signs, Tumblers, Metal Signs, etc.
Mugs, Shirts - We advise you to have your artwork at 300 DPI to avoid low-quality printing since these products are being looked at up close.
